About Us

Musgrove + YOU

Musgrove + Company was established in March of 2018 in Downtown Tecumseh, Michigan, with the intention of fulfilling a demand from the community: a place built around excellent coffee, thoughtful hospitality, and genuine connection. From that beginning, our mission was born:

Coffee is Community.

Our community starts in Costa Rica, where the specialty coffee we serve is meticulously cared for and grown at the third-generation farm of Café Rivense. Located in the Rivas Valley of Cerro Chirripó, this coffee is grown at elevations of more than 1,100 meters above sea level.

After harvest, the coffee undergoes an extensive method known as the honey process, where the mucilage of the coffee cherry is left on the bean as it dries in the sun. This careful process helps create a brighter, more fruit-forward finish in the cup.

Once processing is complete in Costa Rica, the coffee begins its long journey through exportation and importation. Over the course of multiple weeks, we are honored to have observation and care throughout the process. When the coffee is secured by us, it is carefully stored in a climate-controlled environment before we begin roasting.

We respect the full process and lifespan of coffee. Many of its most meaningful flavors are already present before any roast alteration begins. Our roast profile is determined in collaboration with the farmer to preserve as much of the coffee’s origin character as possible. This often leads us toward a light or medium roast, allowing the terroir to remain present while producing a cup that is strong, flavorful, and true to where it came from.

Our House Drip Roast is the everyday coffee we’re proud to serve — balanced, approachable, and roasted with intention in Adrian, Michigan. Sourced through our direct relationship with Café Rivense in Costa Rica, this whole bean coffee is crafted to highlight origin character while delivering a smooth, reliable cup at home.

Roasted to a light-to-medium profile, it preserves natural sweetness, gentle fruit notes, and a clean finish, making it ideal for drip coffee, pour over, French press, and daily brewing.
